“Sensei and Puss both – need hero walking shots.”

Puss In Boots stomps field. Sensei sets new record.

Another record falls for Sensei as he achieves his highest ever month accuracy. Off this week’s excellent calls – Sensei ends the month of October narrowly beating his previous record.

Comparing around, we were hard pressed to find any other prediction site with accuracy as high. Incredible work, Sensei.

1. Puss In Boots

Prediction: 37 million. Actual: 34 million. Looked to go big…

Quite a few questions were thrown at Sensei at how he knew this. There were snowstorms on the east coast and a rare Game 7 in the World Series. These factors did affect the numbers, but even then Sensei was one of very few within the right range on predictions. In the end, the holiday weekend did affect the numbers more than people realized as Sensei stated.

2. Paranormal Activity 3

Prediction: 24 million. Actual: 18.1 million. Right call, one day too late.

The storms really had an effect on this film’s crowds regarding this weekend. What this did was set up an enormous Halloween Monday at the box office where crowds caught up to it. Sensei had the right range, just a day behind.

3. In Time

Prediction: 14 million. Actual: 12 million.  Again, Sensei had it right.

Justin Timberlake is and remains an unproven box office draw. Film struggled to even make it to a Source Code like opening. Soft numbers all around.

4. The Rum Diary

Prediction: 6.4 million. Actual: #5 with 5.1 million. Star Power was not enough…

Sensei noted the confusing marketing and how the film seemed to bank everything on Johnny Depp’s box office draw. Results didn’t materialize ending with a lower opening.

5. Footloose

Prediction: 6.1 million. Actual: #4 with 5.5 million. Did win the rematch.

Puss In Boots did steal away Real Steel’s family audiences, and Footloose was able to beat Real Steel to finish higher. Sensei noted it would be close. Real Steel finished #6 with 4.7 million.

Anonymous‘s film prediction was for 1 million.  Actual: EXACT HIT on 1 million.  Sweet!

Until next time,

Sensei White Lotus
