What’s more creepy? The ghosts? Or this room’s paint job?

Paranormal Does Dominate Again

A much lower result for one of horror’s most successful franchises, some other surprises as well…

Weekend Results…

1. Paranormal Activity 4 - 42 Million. Actual: 29 Million.

Sensei’s streak of calling the correct #1 extends to four weeks.

2. Alex Cross – 19 Million. Actual: #5 with 11.3 Million.  Ouch.

3. Argo – 13 Million. Actual: #2 with 16.4 Million.

4. Hotel Trasylvania - 12 Million. Actual: 13 Million.

5. Taken 2  - 11 Million. Actual: #3 with 13.2 Million.

Paranormal Activity 4 turned in a much lower opening than the previous franchise entries. Many are already labeling it a disappointment. Alex Cross also did not reach the healthy opening expected. Turns out Tyler Perry’s audience is becoming less reliable with his other projects.
Looking at the hold-overs, Argo did post a very healthy second weekend off its positive audience reviews. Taken 2 and Hotel Transylvania did add to their already impressive totals. While the new releases may have disappointed, the hold-overs did very well.

Have a great week,
