Analysis

Twilight pulled the win over James Bond. Expected a close battle for the top, and wasn’t disappointed. Overall, predictions were very close in the top five as another Sensei call streak hits double digits. Lincoln and Rise of the Guardians ended up separated by less than 100,000 dollars in the final tally.
Despite the Oscar buzz, I didn’t see Killing Them Softly breaking out. Turns out the film garnered an “F” Cinemascore from audiences. After such a low praise, the film continued to struggle thru the weekend. Film was actually lucky to finish as high as it did. Look for this one to vanish from theaters quickly. Meanwhile, The Collection came in as predicted.
…
Finally, congrats to Argo which broke the 100 million domestic mark last weekend.
Have a great week,

    Oh…now that’s gotta hurt.

I knew that Pitt is a fast-fading star, but….ouch. Not even $10 mil.? (the bar for ‘hit movie’ just got lower)

Sorta ‘defines us’ as no longer interested.

Now, what I’ll be looking at closely will be the new Cruise vehicle “Reacher”. They must be spending a fortune on P&A because you can’t watch a single hour of television without seeing an ad for this film.

I have a sneaking hunch that, after the curious have seen it, Tom will be feeling the sting that Pitt is feeling right now. Which is okay…I need the laugh.

Cruise sez: “Support scientology! See my movie!! Or else the mother ship will land and kill you all!!!”

Good seeing you Priest. I was just thinking on “Reacher” yesterday. Wondered if it had a “Edge of Darkness” vibe to it, which didn’t do well for Mel Gibson.
