Analysis

The Hobbit did take the last weekend of the year, and some films did post increases from last weekend’s box office totals.
In what was really impressive, Django Unchained came on strong during the weekend (despite its hard R rating) and actually challenged The Hobbit for the top spot. Alas, came close but didn’t quite get there. Still, an impressive over-performance.
Les Miserables and the rest of the weekend’s calls ended up close. Not a bad way to end the year.
Lincoln did continue to draw off its Oscar buzz, and broke the 130 million domestic mark. This easily makes it the year’s top grossing drama. Also, huge congrats to Skyfall as it broke the billion dollar mark worldwide.
Have a great week,

Sensei White Lotus

    Caption Contest: (a poem)

There was no time to flee,

so they were stuck in misery

There was no hope, they knew it was over

because Chuck Norris had stepped from the corner

    Uh-oh. Watch out.

    The record maye…could be…might..possibly…maybe…high probablility…be in jeopardy.

18 +1 is all that it will take.
