Look, when you see those Premium Rush bikers, just shoot.

Expendables Repeats. 2016 Does Rise.

The Expendables 2 did repeat to extend Sensei’s streak. Nice call on 2016….

Weekend recap…

1. The Expendables 2 – 13 Million. Actual: 13.4 Million. Sweet!

Sensei’s call streak calling #1 extends to eight straight weeks.

2. Premium Rush – 9.2 Million. Actual: #8 with 6 Million.

3. The Bourne Legacy – 8.5 Million. Actual: #2 with 9.3 Million.

4. ParaNorman – 7 Million. Actual: #3 with 8.6 Million.

5. 2016 – 6.2 Million. Actual: #7 with 6.5 Million.

#Hit and Run – 5 Million. – Actual: 4.5 Million.

#The Apparition – 3 Million. – Actual: 2.8 Million.

Very solid calls on the numbers, did very well on the new releases outside of Premium Rush which surprisingly sprang a flat tire. Weekend will help firm up another high monthly call percentage heading into the fall movie season.
The best call was predicting the rise of the documentary 2016. The film’s gross shocked Hollywood, but not us. Our readers again saw the “Sensei advantage” in calling surprise box office hits.

Have a great week,

Sensei White Lotus

Out of Gas, Stallone’s threats couldn’t make the car start either.

Can’t say I’m surprised by Premium Rush. Seemed kind of niche, even with Gordon-Levit’s rising star from DKR. Just hard to get worked up about a movie about a bike messenger, especially when anyone who’s walked around in a big city has almost been flattened by one of those jerks at least once.

I actually want to see this movie; I think it could be a good, quiet little thriller like Cellular. I’m just not going to pay full price for it though and wait till it hits the discount theaters.

Looking forward to the call for “Possession”…can’t decide if it would be worth seeing or not.
